| The county's actions in this case are extremely disappointing. The county chose not to respect the decision of the ZBA. Then the county chose not to defend the ZBA in the judicial hearings. Instead, it was left to the neighborhood associations to defend the ZBA and force the county to do what it should have done almost two years ago. | You can cut the ivy at the base of the tree. The vine remaining on the tree trunk will die. To protect your trees from the return of English ivy, trim it back semi-monthly. Better still, completely remove English ivy from your landscape! :) You can do this with a concentrated version of Roundup formulated for ivy. It might take 2 or 3 treatments to completely destroy English ivy but it does work.
